Everything I need to know I learned from Harry Potter

Never trust something that can think for itself if you can’t see where it keeps it’s brain. Pain is part of being human. You’ve got to make some sacrifices if you want to checkmate the king. It is the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more. Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike. When in doubt, go to the library. We are only as strong as we are united, weak as we are divided. People can be a bit stupid about their pets. It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live. Youth cannot know how age things and feels, but old men are guilty if they forget what it is to be young. Mistletoe is often infested with nargles. You should never go for looks alone. Love is a force that is more wonderful and more terrible than death. Help will always be given to those who ask for it. Even the best of men can start out as arrogant little berks. The dead we have loved never truly leave us. Follow the spiders. Fear of a name increases the fear of the thing itself. Fame is a fickle friend. Friendship and bravery are more important than books and cleverness. Some wounds run too deep for the healing. Poisonous toadstools don’t change their spots. Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts open. House-elves have just as much right as wizards to be unhappy. Remember cedric diggory. It is far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right. The truth is a beautiful and terrible thing and should therefore be treated with great caution. The consequences of our actions are always so complex that predicting the future is a very difficult business. It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. The world isn’t split into good people and death eaters. If you want to know what a man’s like, look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals. Humans have a knack for choosing precisely those things which are worst for them. Learn to keep your mouth shut. Gambling away your parent’s sacrifice for a bag of magic tricks is a pretty poor way to repay them.

If we can’t trust dumbledore, we can’t trust anyone.
